Dom Perignon always makes for the perfect gift every holiday season. No one is ever upset to receive a bottle from this iconic Champagne house. The name has been a part of Champagne's legend for centuries, and they remain today a singular wine found in every important wine program and cellar. The Plentitude 2 bottlings, known as "P2" are exceptional wines that spend extended time in the cellar to reach a new dimension of complexity. As the estate puts it: "After close to 15 years in the darkness of the cellar, expansion of energy reaches its peak and the wine rises to an apex of essential, radiant vitality. Elevated to new heights, Dom Pérignon's uniqueness sings out higher and clearer than ever before." These are the pinnacle of aged Champagne, and we can think of no better wines to celebrate with or gift to loved ones this holiday season.
94 Points from Willam Kelley of Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Dom Pérignon P2 opens in the glass with aromas of waxy citrus oil, warm bread, dried fruits, fresh peach and iodine. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and textural, with a sweet core of mature fruit, ripe acids and a sapid, elegantly toasty finish. As I wrote earlier this year, the 2000 vintage delivered a precocious Dom Pérignon, and this recently disgorged rendition has really benefited from the additional time sur lattes, acquiring notably more complexity—while retaining more energy—than the original disgorgement."
