We are always looking for those transitional wines to move us from summer to winter and back again in the spring, and we've got another one to add to your lineup with the Mas des Caprices R.A.S. This fun and quaffable red hails from the Languedoc-Rousillon region of southern France, near the Spanish border. As is common of wines from this area, it is a blend of Carignan, Grenache, and Mourvedre. . Husband and wife team Mireille and Pierre Mann both have wine in their blood: Both of them were raised by winemakers in Alsace, and for a number of years they actually ran a restaurant in Alsace before deciding to give it up to start their own winery. Their estate is certified organic and biodynamic, and in terms of production and style, this wine is reminiscent of some of the Gang of Four wines from Beaujolais. And with Beaujolais Nouveau Day fast approaching, it only makes sense to stock up on a wine that is literally named 'A Red to Sip' (R.A.S).
